VP Strategy Director

(New Jersey) Well-known medical communications company is looking for a talented VP, Strategy Director to join its growing team. This role will be responsible for defining medical communications strategy on behalf of clients with a deep understanding of the market, customer, competition, and brand. Additionally, the VP will identify and present actionable implications and recommendations to clients. This is a client-facing position and being seen as a valued client partner is a must. This position will report to the SVP, Strategic & Scientific Services.

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Develop strategic deliverables such as competitive analysis, brand positioning, creative core idea, market research synthesis, creative brief, workshops, and brand plans

  • Support strategic thinking and analytical skills beyond the department

  • Understand, access, and recommend available tools and data resources that would expand agency capabilities

  • Understand target audiences, as well as drivers and barriers of behavior, and identify leverage points for change

  • Build strong relationships with client teams

  • Support business development

Qualifications/Experience/Skills Include:

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Experience in oncology and/or rare diseases preferred

  • 7-10 years’ experience pharmaceutical marketing, strategy consulting, or advertising

  • Demonstrate current knowledge of and excellent communication skills on medical and pharmaceutical industry issues

  • Experience leading competing priorities and tight deadlines

  • Ability to travel (US and International) as necessary
