VP, Scientific Services
(Remote) Medical communications company seeking a Vice President of Scientific Services to lead and scale scientific function within a dynamic medical communications organization. This role is responsible for setting scientific strategy, ensuring excellence across all deliverables, and building high-performing scientific teams that drive client success and agency growth. As a key member of the leadership team, the VP of Scientific Services will shape the scientific voice of the organization, foster a culture of rigor and innovation, and serve as a senior scientific partner to clients across multiple therapeutic areas.
Main Responsibilities Include:
Define and oversee the overall scientific strategy and vision across all medical communications programs.
Ensure consistent scientific excellence, accuracy, and compliance across deliverables, accounts, and therapeutic areas.
Serve as senior scientific counsel to clients, building long-term partnerships and credibility at the executive and KOL level.
Lead, mentor, and develop Scientific Directors, Associate Scientific Directors, and broader scientific teams.
Partner with commercial, account, and operations leadership to support business growth and client retention.
Drive innovation in scientific storytelling, data interpretation, and content formats.
Play a central role in new business development, including pitch strategy, proposal leadership, and high-level presentations.
Establish best practices, processes, and quality standards to support scalability and efficiency.
Monitor industry trends, regulatory considerations, and evolving scientific landscapes to keep the organization competitive.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills Include:
Advanced degree in a scientific or medical discipline
10+ years of experience in medical communications, medical education, or a related agency environment, including senior leadership roles.
Proven track record of leading scientific teams and managing complex, multi-account portfolios.
Deep expertise in translating clinical and scientific data into strategic, impactful medical communications.
Experience driving business growth, including new client acquisition and account expansion.
