Account Director

(Eastern Time Zone) Medical communications company seeking an Account Director. This role is that of a strategic leader, responsible for driving client success, leading high-impact projects, and fostering strong partnerships. Reporting to the VP, Client Services, and the Account Director will oversee account strategy, team leadership, and client engagement while ensuring stellar execution of deliverables.

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Serve as strategic partner for clients, cultivating strong relationships and driving growth

  • Oversee project teams and assigns project deliverables and related tasks

  • Provide clear direction, strategic input, and expert guidance

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards while maintaining impeccable quality

  • Ensure accurate account forecasts and project financials, managing projects toward financial success

  • Create, write, and distribute proposals for organic business growth

  • Collaborate with scientific directors to provide exceptional client service and high-quality deliverables

  • Serve as liaison between sales and project teams, providing updates on status of accounts and new business opportunities as needed

Qualifications/Experience/Skills Include:

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, business, communications, or a related field; advanced degree preferred

  • 7+ years of experience in account management within medical communications, healthcare, or life sciences

  • Proven track record of managing complex client relationships and leading cross-functional teams

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment

  • Understanding of and adherence to PhRMA, FDA, and OIG guidelines; Healthcare Meeting Compliance Certification a plus
