Publishing Sales Director

(Remote) Niche publisher seeking a dynamic Publishing Sales Director to drive sales strategies, lead the inside sales team, and expand it’s presence across retail and specialty markets. This role will fill feature strategic growth, collaboration, and team leadership.

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead the development and execution of sales strategies for distribution partnerships, special sales initiatives, and publisher sales programs

  • Oversee the inside sales team, aligning efforts to meet and exceed goals

  • Establish title-level sales targets and monitor performance

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, marketing, and production teams

  • Provide market insight and reporting to publishers and internal stakeholders

  • Represent company at trade shows, vendor meetings, and industry events, and plan and lead bi-annual sales conferences

  • Track trends, competition, and new opportunities to develop sales approach

Qualifications/Experience/Skills Include:

  • 7+ years publishing sales experience, including scaling and growing distribution clients and key account management

  • Proven success leading sales teams and driving strategic growth

  • Strong knowledge of adult and children’s book markets

  • Established relationships with major retail and independent book channels

  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with editorial, marketing, and production
