Field Sales Manager
(Midwest/Western Region) Academic publishing group seeking a new Field Sales Manager. This role is responsible for driving customer acquisition, business development, and revenue growth across the US region. The Field Sales Manager oversees the full sales cycle for direct and indirect customers and partners, ensuring effective cross-selling, upselling, and retention of existing accounts. Will also work to ensure accurate reporting, reliable forecasting and the delivery of excellent customer experience, while working closely with Sales Operations and internal teams, and representing the the brand professionally across the territory.
Main Responsibilities Include:
Lead proactive sales activity including cross-sell and upsell opportunities, negotiation of commercial terms, and closing new business
Manage the full lifecycle of customer relationships, ensuring timely contract renewals, customer satisfaction, and identifying opportunities for account expansion.
Drive new business development with targeted prospecting, developing sales proposals, and delivering compelling presentations and product demonstrations.
Support the development of marketing and sales collateral for the territory,
Provide regular market intelligence, competitor insights, sales activity reports, and accurate revenue forecasts to management
Meet all KPIs and maintain a consistently high level of sales activity and pipeline management.
Ensure accurate and detailed recording of customer interactions, opportunities, and pipeline data within the CRM system
Build and maintain productive relationships with third-party vendors across the territory
Qualifications/Experience/Skills Include:
Proven experience in selling high-value digital information products and services across academic market is essential, corporate and government markets a plus
Strong track record of new business generation, customer acquisition and retention, strong negotiation skills, and developing long-term partnerships.
Demonstrable ability to independently manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, proposal development, product demonstrations, negotiations, and closing.
Strong relationship-building, communication, and customer engagement skills
Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally across the territory as required
Salary: $100K + Commission/Bonus
