National Account Manager, Readerlink
(Boston/NYC/Hybrid) One of the world’s leading publishers of books and content for young readers seeking a National Account Manager to Readerlink. This role will report to the Director of Retail Sales, working closely with marketing, inventory, and production. Will be responsible for positioning titles and lists for maximum exposure, sales, and growth across publishers and their imprints.
Main Responsibilities Include:
Day-to-day management of the Mass Market channel, including Target, Walmart, Wholesale Clubs, airport stores, and a wide variety of drugstore and grocery chains.
Working with Readerlink, including regular sales calls, periodic business reviews, and management of cooperative advertising pools.
Setting annual business goals, updating regularly, while discussing opportunities and challenges with accounts for accurate sales forecasting.
Communicating to internal partners at all levels regarding major account activity
Providing regular business and title feedback to publishing and sales management
Participating in title planning, providing feedback and information flow to relevant departments.
Responsible for critical sales analysis of POS in order to maximize supply chain efficiencies
Conducting regular quality assurance checks to ensure all online retailer product pages are optimized.
Strategically positions backlist/frontlist titles for merchandising and promotional opportunities
Qualifications/Experience/Skills Include:
5+ years’ experience in book publishing with direct selling experience
Relevant Readerlink experience, including familiarity with retailer functions; account management a plus
Keen knowledge of children’s books and the competitive marketplace, as well as excellent sales analysis skills,
Willingness to travel on occasion
Salary: $70,000 - 75,000
